Rocking Hana - Not To Sleep!
Hana's 1 Year Doctor Appointment
Today was Hana's one year appointment. Hayli and Moeke came too! After a short wait, Hana got weighed (23.5 pounds -- 10.7 kilograms) and measured (29.5 inches -- 74.9 centimeters). Both measurements took her to the 75th percentile.
Hana got her head measured too. She has a large head in the 95th percentile. I just think she has lots of brains! LOL
Then we had to keep busy for a LONG wait!

Dr. Settles checked Hana's lungs, eyes, throat, and ears.

Since Hana had a fever (101.5 degrees Fahrenheit), the doctor thought we should wait to give Hana her shots. Dr. Settles thought Hana may have hand, mouth, foot disease because she saw some reddening at the back of her throat. We have to go back tomorrow to see if any blisters present themselves. Everything else looks great!!!

Happy 1st Birthday Hana!!!

The day started with breakfast. The best kind ever -- made by Moeke. Breakfast was oatmeal. Hana really likes it the way Moeke makes it! Mommy will have to learn how to do it EXACTLY the way Moeke does... Hayli ate pumpkin bread for breakfast and sang Hana "Happy Birthday"! What a good big sister.

It quickly became 7:55 am, Hana's time of birth.
Hana spent some time with mommy while mommy remembered Hana's birth day. Funny how mommies remember the details!
Mommy planned a party of Backyardigan fun! Hana invited her closest friends, and Hayli had their siblings to play with. It turned out really well for both my precious girls!
We had a lot of snacks appropriate for the young guests,
lots of balloons,
party hats for everyone (and a special birthday one for Hana),
too many presents for the birthday girl and many goodie bags for Hana's friends and their siblings,
and cake too!
What did the big kids do while the younger ones played in the party room? They went to play on the playground and then moved on to the rainbow room to play with the parachute. None of this could have been possible without the help of Ms Megan (the director of Bright Beginnings, our location) and Ms Tracey (for letting us borrow all the party toys and parachute)
Before cake, Hayli and Mia took advantage of the egg shakers. They are such good friends. It make me so happy that Hayli has such a great friend in Mia.
It was so cute to hear all the little kids singing "Happy Birthday" to Hana!

Hana LOVED eating the cake... YUMMY!!!

We took a family picture at the birthday party (Oma, Daddy, Mommy, Hayli, Moeke, and the special birthday girl).
A lunch of champions (french fries) for Hana when we got home.
A little bit of playing...
Then bath time... It took 30 minutes just to clean all the cake off of Hana!

Hard to believe that her IV line abrasion is still healing. Poor thing!
A (very) short nap was needed, and we are off again!
Oma, Daddy, Moeke, Mommy, Hayli, and Hana went to McAlister's for dinner.

Grandpa sang "Happy Birthday" to Hana on the videophone. Hana was so excited, she was laughing and clapping her hands! Priceless.
"It's my birthday, and I will cry if I want to!"
Ice cream was served for dessert... YUMMY!

What a great day for a great little sweetheart! I love you Hana! I love you Hana! Good night!
HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY HANA!
