Hayli Drums to Her Own Beat...

For Kindermusik, we had an assignment (our first homework if you will). The assignment was to make your own drum and bring it in. Hayli was one of the only kids to bring in a "homemade" drum... What can I say? We drum to our own beat!!!

Swim Swim Swim

Today we went to swim class. Hayli and Mia are spoiled since they get two instructors!!! LOL...

Hayli has a lot of persistence when it comes to getting that ring... especially when it is the pink ring!

Hayli practiced "monkeys", which is climbing like a monkey along-side the pool. Hayli sometimes tries to cut corners!

Unidad Park

We have only been to Unidad Park a couple of times, so Hayli is still discovering all of its wonders. Today she discovered this walk-across. I was amazed that after only one time, Hayli insisted to go on her own!

Hayli the Big Sister

Hayli is really getting used to the idea of being a big sister. She is becoming such a great help!

Sam Graft Park

Since Conrad is going to take the van tomorrow, we decided to go to the park today. Hayli was so excited to have Daddy come with! They really had a blast!

Fire Station Fun

Thanks to my friend Kellie, I joined a meeting group of parents who do activities around Las Cruces. Kellie wanted us to join so we could go to a BBQ together at White Sands National Park next weekend. We signed up for the BBQ, but I saw that the group was meeting up at the fire station and got excited. Conrad even agreed to come with.
Hayli really enjoyed the whole tour. First, they had a fireman dress up in all his gear like he would for a fire. Hayli was the first kiddo who would touch the fireman. It was pretty cool, and we were super proud that Hayli didn't cry and run away like most of the kids did.
Then, the kids were allowed to explore the fire engine and the fire truck. Hayli got upset when we had to leave. I guess that means we are going back if the group goes there again...

Hana's 1st Real Bath

Hana has just recently lost her umbilical cord. We gave Hana sponge baths until today... Hana's first real bath. Unfortunately for us (including Hayli who was taking a bath close by), Hana did not like the real bath AT ALL!!!

Hana is 1 Month Old!

Time seems to be going faster with Hana than it did with Hayli. I thought it went fast with Hayli but now I feel like we are on super fast speed with Hana.
Hana is not a small baby by any means. She is 9 pounds 4 ounces now, which is 4.21 kg. (Our scale said 9 pounds 11 ounces tonight, so we are not too far off with our scale!) Hana is measuring 21 1/4 inches now, which is 53.98 cm.
Hana did not care much for the doctor messing with her, but all is well with baby. Dr. Settles said we don't have to wake Hana up for her feedings anymore -- WOOHOO. Nothing worse than waking a sleeping baby especially when you have to set an alarm for yourself too!

Small Trampoline

Hayli loves going to Open Gym. Every time we go, she seems to be attracted to different things. This week, Hayli's eyes were on the small trampoline. She is such a riot!

Rollin' Down the River...

Hayli really does love her music class. Here she is participating in the "Rollin' Down the River" song. So cute!

Hayli has EN-ER-GY

Since I am having some complications with my c-section, us girls have been more indoors than usual. Hana doesn't seem to mind, but Hayli sure does! She was so excited to go to the gym!

3 Weeks Old

Today Hana turned 3 weeks old. We weighed her on our baby scale (it is not as accurate as the scale at the doctor's office). Hana weighed 8 pounds 9.6 ounces, and measured 21 inches (53.5 cm) long. This week, the bleeding stopped from Hana's delivery. Hana began to hold her head up, and almost flung herself from Dada's arms and down the stairs. We have to hold her a bit tighter now. Hayli is definitely warming up to Hana as well. We are certainly breathing a sigh of relief.

Hayli's 1st Dive

Hayli learns a lot in her Froggies class. I am super impressed with Kayla (the instructor), Mia (Hayli's swim buddy), and Hayli. Mia and Hayli already show improvements in their swimming. Mia was not there today since her mommy delivered her new little sister. Now Hayli and Mia are both in the big sister club together. Hayli enjoyed having the big pool (the gym was cleaning the baby pool) all to herself. I was floored when Kayla decided that Hayli was ready to learn how to dive... WOW!!!

2 Weeks Old

Today Hana is 14 days old. We are constantly amazed that we have this little one with us! There are several differences between Hana and Hayli already. Hana seems to be a more calm baby (thank goodness!). Hana is being breast-feed, and is not allergic to the supplemental formula. We hope that Hana begins sleeping through the night soon, as daddy and I are already sleep deprived and are semi-functional. Hana is already beginning to lift her head up! It won't be long when she has control over her neck muscles.

HOPPY EASTER!!!

Today was Easter, and the girls got to celebrate it throughout the day! What lucky girls!!! We started the day with an Easter Egg Hunt right in our loft for Hayli. She really did seem to like finding her surprises in strange places.

Then mommy made breakfast and baked special Easter brownies to enjoy later. YUMMY!

In the afternoon, Hayli had a date with Mommy and Daddy to go to the Sesame Street Live 1-2-3 Imagine show in El Paso. Hayli's friend Tristan also went with his mommy to the show. It was great having them there too. The show was a lot of fun! Hayli had so much fun at the show, that when she realized it was over and we were going home -- she had a complete meltdown. I don't know if that makes us want to take her to the next one or not!!!

After the Sesame Street show, we went to Oma's house to pick up Hana only to find that Oma and Opa had a special surprise for Hayli and Hana. Easter fun all around including an Easter Egg Hunt outside and an Easter basket for each of the girls.
The day was almost over, but Hayli and Hana had one more surprise waiting for them... from Mamo, Grandpa, and Tante. Hayli thought that we needed to go downstairs and get Mamo from her room. Poor kiddo didn't realize that Mamo is already back in Belgium!

Conrad and I have to ration out the chocolate coins from Belgium. If it were up to Hayli, she would eat them all in one setting. Plus they make great bargaining chips when push comes to shove!!! =0)

Thank you to Daddy, Kellie, Tristan, Oma, Opa, Mamo, Grandpa, and Tante for a great Easter!!! Oh yes, and "Thank you to the Easter Bunny too!"...

HOPPY EASTER EVERYONE!!!

Bye Bye Mamo

We were all very sad to see Mamo go. Trust me ... I begged for her to stay and help me with the girls, but Mamo had to go home. Mamo made sure to say goodbye to the girls before she left. I was a complete mess.
WE MISS YOU MAMO!

Weight Check Appointment

Today we did a weight check on Hana. Last week, Hana lost 6.5% of her weight (1/2 pound) in her first week of life. Today good news though: Hana is back at her birth weight of 7 lbs 11 ounces or 3,506 grams. Yippee Hana!!! Good girl!!!

PKU -- Part 2

After Kindermusik, Mamo, Hayli, Hana and I went to the hospital to get Hana's second PKU test done. This test is supposed to be done 10-14 days after the baby's first PKU test. To take advantage of Mamo being here, I took Hana on the 1oth day! Hana did so well. Mamo went in with her to get the test done, and Mamo said that Hana did not even cry until the nurse started squeezing her foot to get the drops of blood on the paper. I would have probably cried myself had I gone in with her instead of Mamo!
Hayli is showing signs of being a big sister now. She says "sister" and tries to put Hana's binky in her mouth when Hana cries. Here she is making sure that Hana is all buckled up!
"Okay, let's get outta here!" Hayli just cracks me up!!!

Kindermusik

We went to Kindermusik first thing this morning (a big deal when four girls have to get ready). Hayli enjoyed her time with mommy and her kindermusik friends... Hayli's favorite part of Kindermusik is the musicbox song, where she gets to fall onto the ground. So silly!
