Driver's Ed

We traded in the Jeep for a Dodge Caravan. We really needed the room. I never thought I would be a van fan, but the space is SO nice. I sit in the back with Hayli so the extra space is really appreciated by both Hayli and myself!

Today I picked the van up from the dealership after some maintenance. I had no where to put Hayli while I re-installed her carseat's base. So, I put her in the driver's seat. The rest is history!!!

Sign & Sing

I think we, as parents, always want what is best for our children. When the opportunity arose to enroll Hayli in a Sign & Sing class, I jumped at the idea that there can be a conversation between dada, mama, and Hayli. That would also mean that Hayli may be less frustrated when she is trying to let us know something. Conrad wanted to make sure that he too could participate in the course, so we signed
up for Monday nights at 6pm. Tonight was our first class.

Here is Hayli getting ready to go... make sure to get those leggings on!

We learned a lot of signs tonight, but the one we had the most fun with was "ball". Here is the sign for "ball".

The balls that the Sign and Sing instructor, Kimberly, gave us were no ordinary balls. They vibrated and jumped all around. I thought for sure that Hayli would scream and hate that ball. I could not have been more wrong!

Here is Hayli discovering for the first time the jumping and jiggling ball. Miss Kimberly came by and turned the ball off to encourage the sign of "ball". Hayli was not a big fan of that!!!

In order to discover the ball completely, it must go into Hayli's mouth... even if it is vibrating and moving about. =0)

"The class is all a blur to me mama..." LOL!

I don't like this picture because it is an awful angle for me... but it is definitely a milestone! Dada, Hayli, and mama at Hayli's first Sign & Sing class.

Presents From Belgium

Today Hayli got presents from Moeke & Grandpa. She was so excited, but screamed when we ripped open the paper from the mailed box. (Christmas should be fun!!!)

Hayli got one Winnie the Pooh Halloween DVD.

"No, I got two DVDs... the other one is Mickey Mouse storytime!" Hayli was really excited. Can you tell? =0)

Oops... dropped one...

"I love my new DVDs!"

Hayli also got a Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Storybook Rhymes, but Hayli's is super special.... Hers is in Dutch!!! Hayli seems to really like it... now for the batteries...

Little Einsteins

Hayli's favorite show EVER is Little Einsteins. We rented one of the Little Einstein movies from NetFlix, and she loved it! As you can see, Hayli is already a pro at multi-tasking.

Youngest W.O.W. Player

I do not know how many of you know how much Conrad plays World of Warcraft (otherwise known as W.O.W.) . The game is played in real time and with other players online. Conrad loves to play (when he can), especially when Tracy is online. It makes for real fun. So much fun, that Hayli insists on being a part of it! Too funny!

DJ Hayli in Da House

I am so grateful that Hayli is in my life. For one thing, I would go insane in the house all alone! For another, Hayli is my comic relief! Here she is being my entertainment as DJ Hayli!

Boo & Pooh

Hayli (we also call her Boo) loves to play on the floor, provided she has a blanket there for a little extra cushion. When she is on the floor, Hayli will roll around until she gets to what she wants. Normally, Hayli will go straight for her Pooh. She loves playing with her Pooh that Moeke bought for her even before she was born.

Round And Around She Goes...

Hayli is always going around and around in the toy that Dada bought her. So much so that there is a mark in the carpet where her 'track' exists. Kala is even aware of it... just watch!

After a long day of going in circles...

Love This Photo

Conrad took this picture tonight. I love it, because it shows that Hayli is just as loving and sweet as she is active. We were both really tired after a very long and busy day!

Cool Leggings

One day Hayli and I went to Kinder Musik class, and when we got back I noticed that Hayli had a rash on her legs. Hayli's normal doctor is not working since she is on maternity leave. (bummer) So, one of the times we went to the doctor's
office for Hayli's congestion, I inquired about the rash. "Oh, that is just a rug rash" the doctor said matter-of-factually. That, of course, rubbed me the wrong way. I immediately went looking for a solution. I found leggings online on EBay. The moment I received the leggings in the mail, I put them on Hayli to see how she would like them... I think it went quite well. I think they are cute on her! =0)

Hayli loves to read!

Hayli and Lady playing... or should I say Hayli trying to play with Lady! LOL

"Hello mama! Aren't I cute???"

All in the life of a baby...

Here is our little Tumblelina in action...

Look What I Can Do!

Hayli discovered that she can look behind her by simply leaning backwards! No need to turn around anymore!!!

If You Are Happy And You Know It, Clap Your Hands

Oma tried to get Hayli to clap Saturday morning during breakfast. Hayli did not quite understand it then, but last night Hayli just started clapping out of nowhere!

I tried to get Hayli to clap first thing this morning, but she had other plans - like food!

Hayli is a much better and happier baby when her belly is full.

Success!

Num Num - First Words?

Here Hayli is just having a good ol' time. She is so sick and tired that everything is funny to her!

I don't know if this counts as Hayli's first words, but she says "num num" every time she wants to have some food. It is really cute!

A New Old Jumperoo

It has been a long time (for me) since my last posting. Hayli has been really sick. The doctor put her one type of antibiotics that worked until the medicine was gone. Then, Hayli was back to her old symptoms. Now, Hayli is on a different type of antibiotics, and it seems to be doing better. Hayli sleeps a lot more than usual, but it is good to know that she is resting to help her body heal. Hayli being sick makes it harder to go anywhere, because I do not think anything is worth waking the poor baby up just go go somewhere. I hope Hayli feels 100% better soon!

When Oma and Opa go to work, Hayli and I go to let their puppy, Tinkerbell, out during lunch-time. Hayli enjoys visiting the puppy and we have a routine there now.
Since we spend so much time at Oma's and Opa's house, I got Hayli a used jumperoo for Oma's and Opa's house. At first, I adjusted the jumperoo too low for Hayli. As you can see here, Hayli is having a hard time with the seat being way too low for her!

After almost 30 minutes of fighting with the jumperoo, the jumperoo is adjusted correctly for Hayli's height. What a workout that was! It seems that Hayli is most appreciative. So, that makes it worth it! =0)

Drowning in the New Float Vest

We got Hayli a float vest that will fit her until she weighs 35 pounds. We thought it would be a great investment since Hayli is around w
ater so much (and will continue to be). We did not realize, however, how BIG this float vest would be!!! Hayli did not seem to mind, but it was really funny to see!

Run Hayli Run

Hayli breezes by her milestones like it is nothing. I really wish my family were here to see it all. This is one of the reasons why I post so much. I am sure it can get quite annoying, but it is so nice being able to share with my family across the pond.

Dada saw this toy at Babies R Us and said that Hayli would love it. I was not quite sure, but as you can tell - Hayli does love it!!! She is even practicing her running skills now! She doesn't even notice that she ends up with some resistance when her binky gets stuck in her front wheel! Lady Bug even makes a guest appearance.

One of Hayli's cute traits is her ability to become distracted at any moment. Here you will see sweet Hayli running around her table, only to stop when she sees Kala, and only long enough to pull Kala's tail and move on! I think she gets this ease of distraction from dada. =0)

Yep... She's Walking (With A Little Help)

I always thought that Hayli would skip crawling. It looks like I might be correct. Here she is walking (with a little assistance from mama) on our bed getting to her toys. I don't think it will be long before she can do this on her own.

Sleepy Hayli

Hayli and I talked to Moeke (my mom) and Auntie Elisabeth (my sister) on the phone. Hayli was so excited that the conversation really wore her out!

I opened the curtains to take the above video and picture. I guess that it was a little too bright for Hayli... LOL! She covered her eyes and went straight back to sleep. Either that or Hayli was tired of mama taking videos and pictures. I chose to believe the first theory. I closed the curtains back up and she removed the blanket from her face. How precious!

Poor Little Baby

Hayli is really sick. She is really congested, and is not sleeping well. Hayli never did like her swing, but now it seems to bring her a little comfort. Poor little baby!

Just so you can compare, here is Hayli only 3 weeks old in her swing. It is unbelievable how much she has grown!

When God Created Me...

Mama and dada know that we are lucky to have our little bundle of joy. So, when dada saw this outfit at Kmart, we had to get it! It is just so fitting - and kind of funny!

When All Else Fails...

Hayli really needs to be entertained at all times. When mama and dada do not entertain her enough, Hayli does it on her own. Too cute!

Our Little Fishy

Today was Hayli's 2nd class in her second term of swimming. She sure does love the water. She wasn't feeling well, so she wasn't as animated as usual. Hayli still did well though.

Hayli is always so happy when Andrea, our swim instructor, releases the colorful balls into the water. (If anyone knows where we can buy such balls - please let me know.)

Here Hayli is collecting balls from the pool at Gym Magic.

Here is a photograph of our class for the second term. (You can click on the picture to make it bigger.)

There is one definite advantage to going to swim class. It really makes Hayli tired!!!

A Different Perspective

Everyone knows how much Hayli loves the water. Here she is swimming to Oma. Look at those legs go!

Dada got a video of Hayli going under water. How cool is that?

Hayli discovers that there is more in the water than floating foam balls. What could it be? It's a float board! Hayli could not wait to explore the float board. She is very curious about everything - which is usually a good thing but it can be a bad thing too.

Just a little fun after swimming. What a silly baby!

I think we wore Hayli out... What do you think? =0) Sleep tight sweet baby!

Waving Hello

For several weeks, Mama has been working with Hayli to wave "hello". She is beginning to get it - I think! Mama is a little shaky in the first video...

Tickle Monster

There is nothing like the sound of a baby's laughter. We have been blessed with a very happy baby.

Teething Progress

Hayli cut her first two teeth a little over a week ago, but they have really progressed. Now I don't have to hold her down to see those little teeth. Sometimes when she smiles real wide, I can see the two little white mountains peeking out from her bottom gum line. I wonder when the top ones will decide to show up...

Swimming at Oma & Opa's House

Since Hayli loves the swim classes, we bought several water toys for Hayli to play with in Oma's and Opa's pool.
One of Hayli's favorite things to do in the pool is swimming and getting the various colored balls that float in the water.

Hayli's favorite color ball is red (no I did not influence her preference... but I don't disapprove). =0)

Since Hayli already uses her legs really well in the water, Conrad and I are trying to teach Hayli how to use her arms in the water. She is beginning to get the concept. What a smart cookie we have!
