Yummy Mum-Mum

Today Hayli had several firsts. Today mama introduced Hayli to the infamous sippy cup. Here is one of Hayli's first moments with her sippy cup...

Hayli's gums hurt so much at the moment. It just breaks my heart. I am always looking for ways to sooth those throbbing gums! I found these rice crackers called "Mum Mum".

These little snacks even come in individually wrapped packages... very convenient for an on-the-go mom like me! =0)

I remembered Shanyn mentioning these crackers on our last visit to Dallas. I thought that these crackers might just help Hayli conquer those new teeth that she is having such a hard time with. I did not realize that these crackers were white wafers sent from Heaven...

Drinking and Sleeping

We all know how much Hayli enjoys eating (gets that from mama), but this brought her love of the bottle to a completely new level!

Lady and Tinkerbell

Lady and Tinkerbell love to play. It is nice to watch them get rid of some of their energy!

Fishing For A Hayli

We always have to find ways to entertain Hayli. Here is just one of those ways...

And Then There Were Two

Imagine my surprise when I was checking on the progress of Hayli's first tooth only to discover that there were two teeth instead of one!!!

Deming Duck Race Weekend

Our little family went to the Deming Duck Race Festival. It was interesting to say the least. We took the hour drive to the parking lot to take the shuttle to the festival. During the time we were waiting (almost an hour) for the shuttle to arrive, we met the organizers, apparently a very affluent family in Deming. They ended up taking us to the festival themselves. It was really nice of them, especially since we were getting really hot just waiting for the shuttle to arrive. The shuttle was supposed to come every 15 minutes.

We did have fun at the festival though.

One of the dry duck races...

Here is one of the wet duck races...

We were so warm, we spent $12 just to get the largest size lemonades that the vendors were selling. The container of lemonade was almost as big as Hayli!

We also took a horse carriage ride. Hayli really enjoyed that!

When we got to the festival, we began asking the Duck Race Committee where we should go to get the shuttle back to the parking lot. Nobody knew where the drop off/pick up point was for the shuttle at the festival. We never did get an answer to this, and ended up walking the 18 blocks back to the parking lot after we were done at the festival. Needless to say, Conrad and I got really burned while walking back to the parking lot. Good thing we got that jumbo lemonade! It came in handy on this venture. =0) Hayli slept in her stroller all the way back to the parking lot and just ended up getting really warm (no sunburn). Below is a picture of the LONG road we walked down to get back to the parking lot. Next year, we will just drive to the festival directly... no more shuttle service for us!

Hayli's 1st Tooth

Hayli's tooth cut her gums exactly a week ago, but her tooth waited until today to make its official appearance. It is hard to see on the picture, but it is definitely there. My baby girl is growing up so quickly!

Look At Those Legs Go!

Hayli really enjoys swimming. Can you tell? We went to Oma's and Opa's house to go swimming in their pool. We had a lot of fun! When Hayli went to swim class, the swim instructor was really impressed with Hayli's ability to kick her legs. Andrea, the swim instructor, explained that many babies kick their legs, but hardly ever do it to get somewhere. When Hayli wants to go somewhere, she understands that her legs can get her there. Way to go Hayli!!!

The pool cleaner (a.k.a. the bottom feeder) was in Hayli's way, but she didn't let that stop her. Hayli is very persistent.

A Ton of Personality

Hayli has a personality of her very own... we enjoy watching it develop. I wanted to share a bit of that special individuality. Just watch!

Hayli never turns down a bottle or a meal of the nearest mashed fruit(s) or vegetable(s). She really gets excited about cookies though - even when she is completely full. Hayli is our little cookie monster!

You think Hayli has a stuffy nose? Nope! She has just discovered that her nose does this cool thing that gets her mama and dada to say, "Aw... how cute!". It makes me laugh every time. =0)

Our Little Outing to The Barber

Dada really needed a hair cut. So, on our way over to Oma and Opa's house for dinner, we stopped by the ol' barber shop (yes, they still exist here in Las Cruces). Hayli was so mesmerized by the lady going from side to side with her neat little humming gadgets. She was such a good girl!!! GO HAYLI!!!

Hayli also showed off her binky skills while we were at the barber shop. She is just so proud of herself (Mama and Dada are pretty proud too!).

Giddy Up Dada

This is Hayli's new favorite game... Giddy Up Dada! If you watch closely, you will see Hayli kicking Dada for more!

Hayli Petting Lilo

Hayli loves our little 'farm'. She has learned how to pet the animals, but has a few favorites. Lady (our Border Collie) and Kala (our Bull Mastiff) are definitely her favorites because how interactive they are with her. Much to our surprise, Hayli has found another favorite (perhaps her ultimate favorite) pet. This pet is Lilo. Lilo, also known as Cow-Cow because she is fat and white with black spots, allows Hayli to pet her. Whenever Hayli sees Lilo, Hayli shrieks in delight... quite amazing really.

One Tough Kid

Hayli loves to rough house, but this is new even for her. I guess I just wasn't being rough enough! Hayli is one tough kid!

Lady & Kala Graduate Doggy School

About 7 weeks ago, Lady & Kala began doggy school at Petsmart. Our dog trainer's name was April, and we really liked her. We had to pass the course in order to graduate. We were nervous that we would not pass the course because we have such strong-minded dogs! YIKES!

Kala walked the isles while ignoring the treats along the way.

Kala's special trick was to suck-up.

Lady walked the isles while ignoring the treats along the way.

Lady sitting and laying down in front of the birds (a major distraction).

Lady's trick was to jump in the air.

April showing me how to get Lady to fly through the air!!!

Did they graduate? Yes, they did!!!

Round and Round They Go

Lady is our loving Border Collie. She has so much energy and excitement. Sometimes I love to just watch her. She really does make me laugh. Lady loves going to Oma's and Opa's house. This is especially true now that Oma and Opa have a new puppy, an Australian Shepard, named Tinkerbell. Lady and Tinkerbell just love to play. They are so cute!!!

360 Degrees of Fun at Oma's

While at Oma and Opa's house, Hayli loves to play in her exer-saucer. She doesn't quite understand why it doesn't bounce like her jumperoos at home... it is pretty funny how she continuously tries though.
