Toddler Time

Hayli goes to the "Toddler Time" that the library does every Thursday. She really likes to go and listen to all the stories. The teacher reads, sings, and does finger dances with the little ones.

Kool Smiles

Last night, Hayli didn't sleep hardly at all. It was a really long night. Nonetheless, Hayli had a dentist appointment this morning, so we were on our way - cranky baby and all. When we got there Hayli was so excited. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a playground there.
The most popular thing at the dentist office was the computer!!! Hayli enjoyed that very much!Unfortunately, the insurance company didn't add Hayli like they should have and Hayli didn't get to see the dentist. The visit wasn't for nothing, because Hayli did enjoy the short visit.

Do A Little Dance

Hayli loves to dance. Conrad says that Hayli takes after me... not so sure about that one, but it sure does put a smile on my face!!!

Park

Today we went to the park after Hayli got her chicken-pox shot. I thought she needed a little reward after she hardly cried when the nurse stuck her with that big needle! It was the first time we went to this park and Hayli really seemed to enjoy it!

Straw Sippy Cup

This afternoon, Hayli finally accomplished drinking milk out of her new favorite sippy cup with a straw. It was a great accomplishment!

To Sippy Cup or Not To Sippy Cup

Hayli just HATES sippy cups. Conrad and I were trying to do the transition before the doctor told us that we had to remove Hayli from the bottles and move to sippy cups only. The only time that we are 'allowed' to give her a bottle is at night-night time. This conversation with the doctor happened on her one-year check (a while ago anyway). Of course, we still have been using the bottle since Hayli has not found a single sippy cup she likes. I have spent at least $200 on different sippy cups, and trying to trick Hayli into using them. I even brought only a sippy cup - no bottle - during one of our group walks, and instead of this plan working it completely backfired. Hayli screamed all the way home because she wanted the milk but NOT from a sippy cup. (That was a long drive home!) While looking for the ketchup today, Conrad suggested we try just one more type of cup... and of course... father knows best. Hayli seems to think that this cup may be okay...

Learning Colors

Yep, we are learning our colors. It is still a work in progress, but Hayli is really catching on quickly. Such a smart cookie we have...

Hayli the Butterfly

Hayli's TumbleBug gymnastics class refers to the class as "butterflies". So, my little butterfly was really busy this morning.

There were things to climb and places to roll the ball...
There were circle obstacles to sit in and go through.

Perfecting the Walk

Today Hayli, dada, & mama went to Sagecrest Park. Here, Hayli practiced getting her walk just perfect!!!

Lolly Pop, Lolly Pop

Hayli got her first lolly pop from her doctor at the last doctor visit. Hayli found this secret in my purse today... Hayli caught on to the idea of the lolly pop really quickly!!!

Gymnastics

Hayli loves going to gymnastics. Auntie Elisabeth bought Hayli the gymnastics classes for Christmas! THANK YOU AUNTIE ELISABETH!!!

There are bridges to go under...There was an obstacle course, where Hayli got a ride with Miss Bridget.Today, Miss Bridget even set up a bouncy castle for the gymnastics class.

Hayli was scared to go through the tunnel at first. Hayli's first experience with a tunnel was at Kindermusik. Hayli wouldn't go through it until she saw her best friend Anna go through it. Then, Hayli was bound and determined to do it too! Now, at gymnastics, Hayli goes through the tunnel with no problems. (Thank you Anna!)
At the end of gymnastics class, Hayli gets a sticker and a stamp if she did really well. Today Hayli did REALLY well, so she got both a sticker and stamp. Hayli likes the stickers and stamps on her feet. It keeps her entertained too! Hayli will play with her feet and look at them in admiration all day long!!!
THANK YOU AUNTIE ELISABETH -- WE LOVE GYMNASTICS CLASS!!!

Nothing is Safe

Nothing is safe when Hayli is around - not even at the doctor's office! (This was before her shots! She wasn't so happy after she got those!)

Potty or Foot Cleaner???

We put a training potty in the loft to help Hayli not be afraid of the potty. I really don't expect Hayli to get the function of the potty just yet, but Hayli got a message stating that this device isn't a potty but rather a foot cleaner... We are going to have our hands full trying to explain this one to her! :0)

Happy Birthday to Me!

Today was my birthday. It was the big 3-0! Hayli's present to me was sleeping in until 10 in the morning! (yeah I know - that was a great birthday present!) My friends here were really kind and had a potluck lunch for me. It was great! Kara made a lot of food (even a macaroni casserole for the babies). How sweet was that???
I was lucky enough to have some of my friends make it to the potluck! A lot of babies are sick right now... I guess it is that time of year!

Leon (Kara's husband) & Jayden
Jenny, Kara, & me
Hayli & Anna
Lisa & Anna
Jenny made me an ice cream cake - homemade - as in she even iced the ice cream. It was really yummy! The party was really great. That is until Hayli walked behind the Pack-And-Play and fell somehow. Conrad went to get Hayli because she was crying. When I saw Conrad's face, I knew something was wrong. "There's blood!" YIKES! When I saw Hayli's little face it was covered in blood. We slowly wiped the blood away inspecting for any abrasions as we went along. This process was not making Hayli any happier, but we had to find the source of all the blood. We found out it was coming from her mouth, but she wouldn't let us look inside her mouth. I am sure it was way too painful. So, we had to rush out of the party and into the car to get Hayli cleaned up and keep a close eye on her. While we were in the car, I still could not pinpoint where the blood was coming from but at least I found out that she had all three of her teeth still.

After we finally got the bleeding to stop, Hayli decided that despite the pain she wanted to play. This only led to another tumble and the bleeding started again!!!
We did get to see the cut after the second bleeding. It is between her top gums and the upper lip inside her mouth. After a lot of research, I found that this little piece of tissue that connects the upper lip to the gums is called a Frenulum Labii Superioris. That's a tricky set of words, huh? In the end, Hayli ended up with no stitches, a routine of receiving pain reliever, and a mouth wash to make sure that the wound did not get infected. And I - well we didn't get to do much else for my birthday, but I can't say it wasn't eventful!

Curtain Call

The last thing on the Little Einsteins show is the "curtain call". Wherever Hayli is in the house, when she hears the curtain call, she goes running to see it. She has her own little dance she does. She spins around with her arms out - usually resulting in a plop to the ground. It is super cute and I wanted to share!!!

Breathing Treatments

Hayli had to start breathing treatments today. The nebulizer was not a fun experience in the doctor's office. The doctor suggested another solution for the breathing treatment. This treatment is more of an inhaler treatment. Hayli did very well with this solution. (Thank goodness!)

Tooth #3

Anyone who is around Hayli - even for a short period of time - knows that Hayli has her own way of doing things. Her developmental milestones are definitely not textbook. So, babies normally get their two bottom teeth, then their two top teeth, and so on. Hayli has been teething for what seems like months, and her top gum is swollen and I can see the two top teeth trying their hardest to come through. This morning, however, it was not her top teeth appearing but a sneaky little bottom tooth!!!
