Froggies, Here We Come!!!

Today was Hayli's first day as a Froggie. Mamo came with to help with Hana (don't know that will work next week when Mamo is already back in Belgium). Hayli did realy well. I am so proud of her!

Today Mamo, Hana, Hayli, and I went to the Unidad Park. Some of the playgroup mommies really recommended the park, but we never had a chance to go. So, today we went so Hayli could see it. Hayli loved the maze to get to the various slides (she was a bit apprehensive at first though).

After the initial fear wore off, we could not get Hayli to leave the park. Go figure!

Here We Are Again...

Today was our first day back at Open Gym. Hayli was excited to be getting back to the swing of things. Some things remain the same. Hayli's favorite activities are still the obstacle course of climbing and jumping on the trampoline.

Sam Graft

After being stuck staring at four walls, it was nice to go to the park and visit with some of the playgroup mommies!
It was great to see Jenny and her new addition Aiden too! Aiden is 2 1/2 weeks older than Hana. What cuties!
Mamo took charge of Hana, and I got to play with my little superstar!

1 Week Old

Today Hana Elisabet is one week old! I can not believe that it has already been one week since we checked into the hospital. Conrad and I knew that Hana would be completely different from Hayli, and she really is. Hana sleeps a lot still (it is that newborn coma that we refer to!). We took this photo this morning. Hana is wearing the outfit that Nurse Mindy gave us. Hana is quickly growing out of her newborn clothes! I can't believe that Hayli used to be this small!!! =0) Conrad went to work today, but thank goodness Mamo is still here to help out!

Hana's First Doctor Visit

Today was Hana's first pediatrician visit. Hana has the same pediatrician as Hayli. Dr. Settles has always done really well with Hayli, and I am sure that she will give the same excellent care to Hana. The main reason for today's visit was to check Hana's weight, especially since Hana is being fed both breast and formula milk.
Hana weighed in at 7 pounds 3 ounces, so we will have to go in again next week Friday. Hopefully, with the supplemental formula feedings Hana will gain weight!

Day 2

Today is Hana's second day of life. She is truly our second little miracle.
Hana had her hearing tested, and she passed. WOOHOO!
Mamo with our newest addition...
This may be my favorite photo. See the mark on Hana's thumb? That is a blister from her sucking her thumb in the womb!!! What a sweetie!
Dada has fallen in love -- for the 3rd time!

Hana's Birth Day

Today is Hana's scheduled birth day. We started the day at 4:30 in the morning. Amazingly, we were all up and ready to go by 5 a.m. Oma came over so she could watch Hayli while we were at the hospital.
One more belly photo before we left for the hospital.
Because it was so early in the morning, we had to check in at the Emergency Room. It was really strange. Although I did all the paperwork on Friday, I had to redo the paperwork since they lost it!!! (Can you believe that?)
Here we are waiting to be buzzed in to the labor and delivery floor.
More paperwork had to be filled out...

Dr. Elma Gutierrez showed up. Dr. Gutierrez and the nurses try to figure out our cord blood kit.
After the spinal block was set, Moeke was allowed in the operating room and Dada was left behind to wait for Hana. Hana Elisabet was delivered at 7:55 in the morning, weighed 7 pounds 11 ounces, her head was 14 inches around, and she was 19 3/4 inches long!
Moeke got to cut the umbilical cord. I was so happy that I insisted on someone doing that. What an honor it was that Moeke agreed to do it.
I was not the first to meet Hana, but it was love at first sight!
Dada met Hana in the nursery.
Dr. Settles was there to deliver Hana... what a super doctor!
Our favorite nurse, Mindy, was there for Hana's delivery too! What a special experience!
Oma came later in the day to visit with Hana.
Jody came by to see Hana too! We are so happy to have such great friends and family!

The Day Before...

We found ourselves at the day before Hana's arrival. Needless-to-say, we are NOT prepared for our second bundle's arrival. I still can't believe that we are adding to our family!

The day started off with a trip to the Emergency Room for a blood draw. I guess the doctors needed it in order to have the blood tested before the surgery tomorrow. The reason why we had to go to the ER is because it is Sunday and the regular hospital is closed. We also had to make sure that the cord blood paperwork was complete and that we had the kit in order. For Hayli, everything is very surreal. She is in complete denial, but she did take the opportunity to tell Hana that she will see her soon (or that is what the mommy in me says that Hayli was doing)!

Pregnancy Photos

Today we took some pregnancy photos. We thought we better take these photos before Hana decided to show up early!

Last Waterbabies Class EVER!!!

Today was Hayli's LAST waterbabies class EVER! She is officially no longer a waterbaby and now a froggie. Conrad came today to show his support of his little girl graduating class. Hayli woke up from her nap, and when I went in to get her I told her it was time to get ready for swim class. Hayli was so excited... "swim, swim, swim..." "You want to go swimming?" "YEAH!" Hayli was so surprised when she turned around and dada was right there. Conrad asked her if he could come with her to her last class. "Yeah!" Such a happy little girl. So, off we went as a little family to our very last waterbabies class.

I love you's

March has been and will continue to be a month of monumental events. Hayli started the month off with a bang! Hayli told dada on the phone "Dada, where are you?" "Work sweetie." "I love you.".... AWWWWWWWWWWWWW.... She sure knows how to make mama's eyes water! Then a week later, Hayli came to me and gave me a hug and said "Love you mama!". She is just the sweetest little girl. Today I was reminded that I had to post this when I went to put Hayli down for her afternoon nap, and she said "Love you. Night night." What a sweetie! I love HER so much!

Last Open Gym Before Hana

Hayli loves to climb... and Open Gym provides a safe environment for her to do just that.

I hope we can get back into the swing of things quickly after Hana arrives!

Practicing for Froggies

Today was rough on Hayli for some reason. She was in a terrible mood all day. Hayli's mood changed instantly as soon as she hit the water for swim class. I don't what it is about the water, but it is the best soother for Hayli. Kayla, Hayli's swim instructor, is so impressed with Hayli. She is graduating Hayli to Froggies next term, so next week is Hayli's last Waterbabies class. Conrad is going to come watch Hayli's last Waterbabies class, so I am sure that Hayli will be thrilled that he will be there!

Kindermusik

Today Hayli went to Kindermusik. Hayli definitely has her favorite and least favorite parts of the class. Her least favorite part is rocking time with mommy. Hayli really just can't sit still that long. Her favorite part is the music box song because she gets to run around the room until the music box slows down and then she can throw herself onto the ground. She is so crazy!!!

Swimming

Hayli has been swimming since she was 6 months old. That is when mommy started having a life outside of the home. I met so many neat mommies through the classes that Hayli enjoyed. A new stage of Hayli's swim life is about to begin. She is moving on to "Froggies", which means no more mommy and me in the pool. I already figured that I will sit on the side with Hana in a sling wrap while Hayli swims in the pool with the instructor. I guess it is all for the best! Today I tried to capture Hayli practicing for her Froggie days. Kayla, Hayli's swim instructor, told Hayli to throw the crab into the water and to swim and get the crab. Hayli thought this was so neat to swim pretty much on her own. Mommy still isn't so sure about all this!!!

Hayli's New Trick

Hayli has been working on swinging on the bars at open gym for months now. And today, after being discouraged the last couple of weeks, Hayli tried it again... She was so proud of herself as she was able to do it all on her own! What a strong little girl we have!
